Jewish Synagogue

An oldest synagogue among the commonwealth nations that was built in the year 1568, but was destroyed by the Portuguese in the year 1662 and later reconstructed. The attractions of the Synagogue are Great Scrolls of the Old Testament, traditional ram's horn trumpet, copper plates and the privilege given by the Cochin rulers recorded in Hebrew script.

Pareekshith Thampuran Museum

This Archeological museum is located near the Shiva Temple, on the Durbar Hall at Ernakulam, displays murals, scriptures made in stone and plaster of Paris, 19th century paintings, coins, relics and collections from the royal family.

Willingdon Island

The island was named after the famous Viceroy of India, Lord Willingdon, is a man made island engulfed by backwaters. The island is the station of the city's outstanding hotels, headquarters of the southern naval base and the port trust.

St. Francis Church

The Church was built by Franciscan Friars in the year 1503 and is Indian's oldest European Church. Vasco da Gama was buried here in 1524, later his mortal remains were transferred to Portugal
